Google Glass for only $16,000!

Google GlassIt was only last week we wrote about Google Glass coming to a store near you, well now it seems you could actually get your hands on a pair. Well that’s if you want to spend up to $16,000 and beat all other bidders. Yes apparently someone has managed to get hold of the much-anticipated gadget early and is auctioning them off over eBay.

Just a quick reminder, Google Glass is the hands free gadget you wear on your face which allow you to take pictures, capture videos, as well as other additional features. As we mentioned in our previous post these, clearly, must have gadgets are not available at the moment in stores and unlikely to be until the end of this year. However Google have committed to releasing an unspecified amount of products to keen testers, through a competition, which is set to finish today.

This raises the question, how did someone manage to get hold of a pair? The person said to be from the U.S, has claimed that they have been selected as an early adapter for Google’s upcoming release and that the successful bidder will be buying a brand new unopened pair of Google’s Project Glass glasses. They go onto say that they are expected to have the product between 4th-7th of March. It is also said that bidders can choose the colour and the glasses will be shipped with insurance.

Whether or not this is true, the person in question must be overwhelmed with the response as they only started the bidding at $1,500 on 21st February and within the matter of days saw it sore up to $15,900.

Finally it remains to be seen whether the terms of Google’s program will allow the participants to resell the devices. Meaning if Google still technically owns them, the seller of the glasses would be prohibited to resell them. Whatever the outcome Google must be licking their lips at the prospect of a very popular product.
