Open interviews – yes or no?



This week, a startup founder started an interesting discussion when he posted on his company blog – Turning Down TechCrunch.

To recap, Gittip founder Chad Whitacre asked a TechCrunch writer if he’d be willing to an ‘open interview where he would livestream a call and publish it on YouTube. The TechCrunch writer, interested in covering them, said no. Then came the blog post…

For us, this could be the best bit of PR they’ll ever do. Publications have been lining up to interview Whitacre and many have since had their calls posted to YouTube.
