Sony makes the big announcement!
Finally the big announcement people have been waiting for, ever since they got the first sniff of the next generation console, yes it’s the official release dates. This week was the delivery of Gamescom, Europe’s biggest video games fair – a fitting stage for Sony to unveil the last of the consoles details.
It was on Tuesday that Sony confirmed Friday 29th November would be the set date for Playstation 4 to be release to Europe, meaning fanatics will have a two week period of horror as they watch their American counterparts enjoy the new product, as it is set to be released on Friday 15th November in North America. After which Sony say the Playstation 4 will become available in up to 32 countries over the holiday period. This response generated from the release has been overwhelming as Sony have already confirmed more than 1 million pre orders worldwide have been made since the announcement of the console.
This has however come with some competition from other market leaders including Microsoft, who have confirmed they XBOX One will also appear around November time, keeping Sony on their toes. Although the Playstation 4 looks set to blow them out of the water by undercutting Microsoft by $100.
The only problem that now stands for Sony is will they be able to meet the demand, as growing concern surrounds the release date being slap bang in the holiday period. It has already been rumoured that the company will not be able to supply the amount necessary. Which if could potentially turn people to their competitors.
