Snapchat Release New Live Chat and Video Messaging Features
Since creating headlines for being one of the few companies to reject social media giants Facebook and their $3 billion offer, Snapchat has kept its head down somewhat and behind the scenes been creating new features, which will inevitably only drive up the apps popularity and value.
The latest news to come out of California is Snapchat’s new Live Chatting and Video Messaging feature aimed to fill the space which Snapchat felt they were currently missing and a vital part of the conversation – chatting. A simple swipe right allows users to start chatting with anyone in their inbox, although keeping the Snapchat trademark conversations are instantly deleted when the window is closed.
This will most definitely draw the attention of apps such as Whatsapp amongst others who will have to prepare themselves as the unique messaging app now intends to step on the toes of its rivals. Also with Snapchat boasting 40 million users, this is no idol threat.
A specific release date is yet to be confirmed by the social messaging company.
